Gun Neutral is a non-partisan collaboration among entertainment companies, individual productions and storytellers to rally around the common purpose of reducing gun violence and increasing safety for all. The initiative recognizes that stories matter, and the cultural currency they create can be a valuable tool in the fight against gun violence.  Gun Neutral acknowledges the industry’s responsibility to use its films, shows, live entertainment, video games and music to raise awareness, create solutions, invest in illegal firearm reduction, better understand the consequences of gun violence in media, and invest in youth programs including arts and STEM activities that engage young people in positive and affirming programs, particularly in vulnerable and under-resourced communities and in communities already impacted by gun violence. For more information on how to get involved, please contact Gun Neutral Program Manager Brent Zachary, info@gunneutral.org.

For every visible gun in OKLAHOMA!, both on stage and around the theatre, OKLAHOMA! will make a minimum donation of $100 per gun on behalf of the show to Gun Neutral’s 501c3 non-profit. The funds will be granted to a variety of organizations that are working to reduce the number of illegal firearms in circulation; will make grants to organizations who provide arts and STEM programming to youth in underserved areas and communities already traumatized by gun violence; and will use the funds to invest in select research that can provide storytellers with a deeper understanding of the choices available to them, by, for example, studying pre and post-exposure using a variety of camera angles.
